Abby & Kyle’s lightsabers and WoW villains geektastic wedding
Robots and aliens have invaded weddings this week! It’s making me want to break it down in a binary solo. Today we’ve got Old Gods, Han and Leia, and gamers in lurve.
A gothic chapel Edward Gorey wedding
We love our offbeat lite brides, and this wedding totally captures that traditional-meets-personalized vibe, including a gorgeous chapel and a little bit of gothic, Edward Gorey-style decor. The custom illustrations drawn by the groom are rocking my world! And if you’re planning a birdseed recessional, take heed. I think the bride’s still picking out seeds from her hair.
Bitty Kewpie dolls, a tiny love note, and huge love for this wedding
Lauren’s dress is sexy as hell, but have you seen what Brandin is wearing? Lay it on me, pink and tartan! Their wedding also had the ultimate-traditional-fun-combo of jumping the broom and a rockin’ hora. And wait until you see their Kewpie doll cake toppers canoodling under a mini chuppah. On top of it all is the sweetest, tiniest love note delivered from Brandin to Lauren before the ceremony.
Christa & Dan’s Whovian British invasion wedding
This couple’s love of Doctor Who is written all over their wedding: cardboard Daleks and Cybermen, British music, centerpieces with various Doctors, and even a full-size Tardis, perfect for hilarious photo opportunities. They also had an impromptu thumb war during the ceremony. Plus, we can all learn from the bride’s totally chill solution to forgetting her guest book.
Rachel & Bo’s rockin’ red and black wedding
There were a few very sweet moments in this wedding: mom walking her daughter down the aisle, friends singing at the ceremony, and a rockin’ band playing for their friends at the reception. I also can’t forget to mention the gorgeous red and black details like the bride’s shoes (matching her hair!), black crinoline, and flower clutch. It all ends up being a fabulous music-filled day.
KB & Fran’s eco Celtic “goyish gay” wedding
The bagpipes, the flowers, the tartan, the grins — this wedding is an eco-celtic dreamland. Their handfasting ceremony was officiated by a dear friend — from her smartphone — and wait till you see who joined the band onstage!
