Love + intention: a Wiccan park wedding with a breastfeeding baby as the “bouquet”
I’m a witch, my husband is not. He knows now after being with me this long that I care a great deal about ritual, intention, and love. So, we set out to do everything by hand. We braided our own handfasting rope, we decorated our broom together, we brewed mead together, we painted and created our whole twelve (12!) invitations together. During anything we did, we lit a red candle, and we would hush to each other about love. We would declare our intent.
A retro music festival-style tent village wedding with four dresses & a eye-popping headpiece
We're both (loveable) weirdos so we wanted our wedding to truly reflect who we were. My favourite highlights that I think achieved this were: my 5m maypole, our rock-paper-scissor vows, our pirate celebrant, the giant Soul Train dance line we had with all 200 guests coming down in pairs, our very silly first dance to Marvin Gaye's “Let's Get It On,” my dancing down the aisle to “Ain't No Mountain High Enough,” my four wardrobe changes, our gong for speeches, and so much more.
Fandoms meet classic Offbeat Bride style at this Texas sci-fi wedding
Kristina and Nathan live in Florida, but headed to Corpus Christi, TX for their Texas sci-fi wedding. Kristina’s outfit reminds us of classic Offbeat Bride style with colored crinoline, a tiny top hat, and a cocktail-length skirt. She even had a handmade paper flower bouquet. We love it!
Tradition with an edge is the key at this fall wedding in Connecticut (with a bit of horror mixed in!)
I love it when a traditional wedding ends up having a bit of an edge. Vanessa and Daniel’s fall wedding in Connecticut had just that: a creative couple who rocked a gorgeous white gown and a black crushed velvet suit. The decor was all about fall coziness with leaf decor and table settings, pumpkins, and even a few Nightmare on Elm Street details. Look out for a cameo from Freddy’s glove used to cut the cake!
