Katherine & James’ barefoot eco-friendly forest wedding
This week we’re letting our hair down and getting back to nature in the wild, wild outdoors! Today we’ve got a barefoot couple in the forests of Piccadilly with rainbows, a teepee, and one very fun Kombi. They managed to make it all happen while compromising with a religious family, coaxing a van into carrying a clown car-load, and dealing with a very naughty bird at the ceremony.
A sweet and small fashionable wedding among the sequoias
Eloisa and Dan’s destination wedding surrounded by sequoias makes me want to cuddle up around a fire in my sleeping bag. They’re weren’t completely isolated though, since they were at Seven Circles Retreat in the teeny town of Badger, CA (population: 140!). If getting away from it all (and fashionably so) doesn’t pull you in, these other details just might: jam jar favors, a thumb print motorbike sketch, homemade lemon and mint water, and lots of Philippine and Romanian home-cooked food.
The happiest gay lumberjack wedding ever
I got completely immersed in the photos sent from Kristen Marie Photography, and was cheering along with the guests (you’ll see what I mean when you get there). She described this as a “gay lumberjack” wedding, which is just fantastic. There’s summer camp/scouting influences, talent shows, tubing down a river, log cutting, and the happiest faces ever. Plus, it’s in Washington, so it’s legal. Seriously, just start looking.
Shana & Leon’s bluegrass wedding in the woods
This pair loves hiking, trees, awesome local beer, and good barbecue. What better ingredients are there for a campground wedding under the trees? Oh, maybe the addition of a kick-ass bluegrass band that kept everyone dancing well into the night. With some ceremony accompaniment, an adorable uncle reading poetry, and dogs and kids galore, this was a wedding with a lot of heart.
