Karina and Colin’s wedding theme is going to be traveling among fictitious worlds — between movies and books and games. They’ll be featuring music from movie and video game scores, Postmodern Jukebox, and every table will have a different world theme. Since they’re part of their local steampunk community, it seemed natural to incorporate that into their engagement photos with outfits from some of our favorite steampunk vendors.

Will and Sara are self-described super nerds (our people!) and rocked a Magic: The Gathering meets Doctor Who engagement session that we couldn’t resist. Table-topping, TARDISing, and smooching — the story of our nerd-loving hearts. They met when she overheard him while walking down the street talking about Magic. As fate would have it, Will walked into the Chipotle line directly behind her and she gathered up the courage to talk to him since she too played Magic. Thus, the photos playing Magic are at none other than Chipotle!

Things you might not expect from an engagement photo session (and the importance of bug spray)
I talked my fiancé into doing engagement pictures basically because I believed the posts on Offbeat Bride that suggested engagement pics are a great way to get comfortable being photographed… and they are a nice memento. My guy felt completely un-photogenic and had no interest in paying someone to follow us around a forest taking pictures of us making out.
