Bread and salt: a Polish wedding tradition meets lakeside DIY magic
Julia and Matthew ditched ballrooms for a woodland dock on the Lithuanian border, where vodka met pavlovas and parents greeted them with the bread and salt Polish wedding tradition. DJs turned newlyweds, they built a festival of campfires, pierogi, and sunrise dance floors. It wasn’t perfect, it was personal… and that’s what made it unforgettable.
A secluded & magical wedding in a golden lit lavender field in Croatia
Sara and Kody arrived from Colorado to have an intimate wedding ceremony on the Adriatic Coast in Croatia, Island of Hvar. They arrived with their parents and closest friends for their handfasting ceremony in a gorgeous lavender field in the middle of the island. They are super adventurous and loved the idea of an outdoor ceremony in an unusual place.
Traditional Romanian Orthodox meets LA party at this art deco wedding
In Romania, we kept the ceremony traditional, which is itself offbeat because it’s like a time capsule — orthodox traditions reminded me of this year’s Met Gala. For the LA party, I wanted all local greens: palms to match the invites (and bridesbabes getting-ready outfits!) and succulent gold terrariums and little vases that doubled as favors. I wanted my 12 bridesmaids to pick their own dresses. The only rules were to pick a metallic or navy blue outfit they would love.
Pick yourself up off the floor after seeing these three wedding party dogs
Michaela and Jeremy comprise the gorgeous pair we’re seeing in these photos from their Old Hollywood-inspired Prague wedding bedecked in sequins and glamour. But I know what you’re thinking: WHO ARE THE PUPPIES? When you see their feathered dresses and adorable suits, that’s an understandable question. This couple rocked a wedding party comprised of three puppers (and nine human companions, too).
