6 brides, 6 styles: there’s no one way to be a bride

Y’all know we’ve never taken the stance that there’s one kind of bride or one way to be a bride. There’s enough pressure to fit into a mold (emotionally AND physically!), and so much pressure not to be a certain way (pushy, a “bridezilla,” a pushover, whatever). So when we spied this shoot showcasing six real brides rocking their own styles from traditional and whimsical to tattooed to sporting a dapper suit, we were SO in.

Offbeat Bride’s Executive Editor got married! Catherine and her husband Steven share a ton of geeky and pop culture interests so it made sense to infuse fun references, soundtrack themes, and fandom homages into their whimsical, pop culture-themed wedding in Chicago. It was held at a West Loop venue with a feast, an ice cream cart, a Hogwarts Great Hall photo booth, and dancing awkwardly into the night.
