A tropical California backyard wedding with palms & fire dancing
It may be Winter around here, but it’s summer in our hearts with this wedding dazzling us. Tatiana and Chase’s California backyard wedding was a mix of Hawaiian style, tons of performances (because both of them know so many talented people!), fire dancing, tropical flower crowns, gold shimmery dresses, palm fronds, and so much gorgeousness.
Let’s see how this tropical paradise wedding played out…
Handmade boho wedding in the redwoods
Our theme was boho meets music festival. We had a camping wedding and were at the property with our friends and family for four days. Almost all decor was DIY and even the tables, chairs, and light posts were made by friends. We wanted to create a sort of bohemian festival-themed atmosphere, where everyone felt like they could do what they wanted in the space. The most important goal was to bring all of our family and friends together in one place and to make sure that everyone felt comfortable and welcomed.
A rustic bar wedding at a bayou style saloon in Hollywood
The Sassafras Saloon in Hollywood, CA is a converted Savannah townhouse with Bayou style and eclectic cocktails, perfect for this rustic bar wedding. Just wait until you see all the wild and woolly vintage decor, Bess and Travis’ chic outfits, and the bar venue that is so intriguing.
Adventure & glory await at this Medieval Times wedding in California
Two years after their elopement, Emily and Travis decided to have a second celebration that really fit their personalities. So it was all about the fantasy at Medieval Times! They had a beautiful ceremony followed by eating chicken with their hands, cheering on the green knight (who won and gave his sash to the bride!), a Last Supper-esque recreation photo, and an arena full of Medieval fun times.
Muted industrial vibes at this tropical engagement inspiration
Photographer Natalie of Rebel Fox Photography brought Angelique and Michel together for an engagement-style shoot with a tropical meets industrial feel. It won our hearts in no time. Don’t miss Angelique’s amazing, textured bouquet by Mack Floral Design.
Traditional Romanian Orthodox meets LA party at this art deco wedding
In Romania, we kept the ceremony traditional, which is itself offbeat because it’s like a time capsule — orthodox traditions reminded me of this year’s Met Gala. For the LA party, I wanted all local greens: palms to match the invites (and bridesbabes getting-ready outfits!) and succulent gold terrariums and little vases that doubled as favors. I wanted my 12 bridesmaids to pick their own dresses. The only rules were to pick a metallic or navy blue outfit they would love.
