Our offbeat wedding at a glance:
I wanted a pink and burgundy themed wedding, because I wanted it to embody both deep fall colors but also fun romantic feelings as well. Plus, I adore pink. I just wanted a small, relaxed, morning brunch wedding where people could go about their day afterwards and not where people got wasted and stayed until 1am — that is my nightmare wedding haha. It's great for some, but the opposite of what I envisioned.
Thankfully it all came together and it was over by 2:30pm, leaving people to enjoy the rest of their day. Instead of a dance floor, people milled around talking and eating and enjoying custom drinks. It was great!
Tell us about the ceremony:
Our ceremony was officiated by a close friend of us both who wore a funky pink wig to match our colors. She shared a few readings and how she knew us beforehand. Not religious, no real traditions or ceremonies, just us together. It lasted maybe 15 minutes — short and sweet which is exactly what we wanted.
I vowed to try to be more tidy which brought some laughs as I am a VERY untidy person and my husband is a neat freak, and in his vows he said, “even if the skies rain purple, we will be okay,” which is a nod to our song, “Purple Rain” which, when he visited me in Seattle the first time (he is from DC and we met on Instagram), we danced to alone on the beach.
Tell us about your reception:
It was a brunch reception, so we had mimosas, bacon gin bloody marys, and eggs benny. We also had a bunch of breakfast pastries and lemon tarts. Our cake was white with lemon filling, and it was a small 6″ that had a Star Wars topper on it.
What was your most important lesson learned?
To LET PEOPLE HELP YOU. I thought for SURE I would not turn into a control freak when it came to planning. WRONG. I needed to have a part in all of it. Even tasks I gave my then-fiancee to do, I needed to make sure it was done correctly haha. In the end, I ended up having more anxiety in general during this time because of the stress.
If you can, hire a wedding planner! I did not and part of me wishes I had to save the stress.

That dress is f*cking fancy! I want it!
Could I ask what model this dress is, please? I’d really like to see if I can find it in my country.
I think this is the Hayley Paige Decklyn dress. https://www.kleinfeldbridal.com/product/hayley-paige-a-line-wedding-dress-decklyn/
Hi! It’s actually a Morilee dress! I loved HP but she ended up being too expensive for me, so it’s a less expensive version! 🙂
It’s my dream dress. Well done.
I bought this dress for wedding because of your photos! It looks so wonderful and I can’t wait to get hitched in it!
Everything about this is my dream. The colors, the early morning/avoiding late night party, the gorgeous everything <3 <3 <3
