Close your eyes, and travel back in time… oh wait, you don’t have to, thanks to this queer retro hippie wedding! Kayla and Kayla (yes, these brides have the same name – cute!) wanted the day to be tons of fun for their guests with games and lots of dancing, and from the looks of it (thanks, TMinspired Photography for capturing this gorgeous day!), mission majorly accomplished. If you’re one of those people constantly saying you were born in the wrong decade, Kayla and Kayla might just have some decor inspiration for you. And you have to see the flowers at this wedding… they show us what a true POP of color is! Plus, just wait until you see how these two took “wedding shots” to a whole new level!
This queer retro hippie wedding had a few blasts from the past
While the day was all about celebrating the future Kayla and Kayla have ahead of them together, it also had some blasts from the past. The rings weren’t the only shiny things at their wedding… check out those disco balls! Sometimes disco balls try to be the star of the show, but for us, this strikes the perfect balance of subtlety and pizzazz. We know kissing under the mistletoe is a thing, but I think this couple just started a new tradition!
The retro feel made its way from the ceremony to the reception with some neon lights and hanging record decor. We’re so glad these two old souls found each other!
There was some serious flower power at this queer retro hippie wedding
We know that flowers are pretty standard at any wedding, but we seriously can’t stop looking at the flowers from Kayla and Kayla’s big day. The warm orangey-gold hues paired with the cerulean blue… hello, POP of color! But what makes these colors REALLY work (and WERK!) is not just the contrast with each other, but with the relatively monochromatic background of the park where Kayla and Kayla got married and had their reception. A hippie wedding wouldn’t be complete without flower power, and these two did not disappoint. We also have to mention the wedding party's gorgeous get-ups that match the flowers perfectly… we love it when a plan comes together!
Inclusive posing techniques mean not assuming that one person wants to lead a twirl or one person wants to wrap their arms around the other person. Instead, it’s offering options to see who feels more comfortable in each role and switching it up as you go along!

Shots were fired (and taken) at this queer retro hippie wedding
When someone yells “shots” at a wedding, we usually know what they mean… but this couple took that word to a whole new level with their liquor gun! And it certainly got the memo about the hippie theme – it’s got some major flower power. Shots were DEFINITELY fired at this wedding, and from what we can tell from the photos, they were taken like a champ!
We love this idea as a unique relic from a wedding day. Who needs an engraved champagne flute when you can have a glass gun that shoots alcohol into your mouth?! More creative wedding day drinking vessels, please!
This queer retro hippie wedding was the start of a gorgeous future
Kayla, Kayla, and their guests danced their way through the decades at their gorgeous queer retro hippie wedding. But all eyes are on their beautiful future together! Cheers to you, Kayla and Kayla!
