Sheena and Todd live in Seattle, but wanted to celebrate their Norse souls in the land of fire and ice by have a Norse cave wedding in Iceland. But they weren't choosing any old location… they surprised their guests with a ceremony in a 4600-year-old lava tube cave! Y'all know we love a cave wedding.
They had an honorary fire, a Norse celebrant, oath rings, a Viking horn, and the groom not only presented the bride with a sword as a gift but also read his vows from it. Sheena read hers from an Emily Dickinson book of poems. After the ceremony, they headed for some portraits on a black sand beach, had a picnic lunch, and admired some waterfalls and lighthouses (the groom's favorite!). They ended the day with an intimate dinner and red velvet cupcakes. It was swoon city, especially if you're into Iceland. Let's take a peek, shall we?

Oh sweet and merciful gods, this is one of the most beautiful weddings I’ve ever seen!
The venue – enough said! And the dress! Perfect on the bride, and SO lovely. The hikings are a cute, practical touch 🙂 Loved this post!
Such a fantastic off-beat couple and wow!!! What a backdrop! Amazing work!
I want that dress! Where is it from/Who made it?? So pretty
The dress is made by Essence of Australia. We had the straps taken off. https://www.essensedesigns.com/essense-of-australia/wedding-dresses/d1919/
The dress was purchased from Lainee Meg Bridal in Snohomish, WA. http://www.laineemegbridal.com
Dang, man, this wedding is awesome in so many ways. And then I saw those delicious looking cupcakes and sigh. I think I’ll just go buy a ticket to somewhere with awesome caves and delicious treats.
Gorgeous!
