Offbeat Bride Tribe member krissybeth just won my heart with her welcome bags for her Las Vegas wedding. These guys included a very special emergency kit that is WAY too perfect for a weekend in Vegas.
They pulled their wedding theme from their awesome invitations from Royal Steamline — a vintage circus-y feel. They were looking for something for their guests' arrival that would also tie in their wedding theme. They decided that vintage-style popcorn boxes would make an awesome, theme-appropriate receptacle.
But what to put in these perfect popcorn boxes? Well, since it's Vegas, they expected a few overindulgences, so (being super-kind to the lushes on their guest list) they packed the rest of the box with helpful supplies. You know, just in case:
They included a cellophane bag containing a small V8 can, a mini-bottle of Smirnoff, and a tiny Tabasco sauce for Emergency Bloody Mary kits! Wow. I could have used a few of those during my wedding planning actually. But I digress…
They also included a tiny kraft-paper bag stuffed with a disposable towelette, a package of Aleve, and a package of Pepto Bismol tablets.
They also wanted to include a “caffeine fix” and while forty Red Bulls were out of their price range, they instead added a Starbucks Via instant iced coffee to keep their guests going.
And they topped it all off with a pint glass. They found these customizable glasses and added a logo from their wedding invitations. Kristen said, “We were so surprised at the quality for the price — we paid $110 for 40 glasses, and they're awesome. Nice, heavy glasses, and the imprint is beautiful.”
Top 'em all off with their adorable “we think you're super” gift tags and you got yourself one awesome “welcome to Vegas” slash “here's help with that hangover” guest bags! And I'm sure their guests will love them for it.
These are fabulous!!
I am obsessed with these! I have been trying to figure out how to slim-down my welcome bags since more people are coming than I had originally expected, and these are PERFECT! Thank you for sharing! Well done!
i was SO waiting for them to top it off with a condom!
That’s exactly what I was thinking. I read the whole way through and was like “…What? No condoms?”
Maybe a Plan B pill would be more appropriate, though. 😉
Actually, most of our friends are married with kids, so it didn’t even cross my mind… but it’s a really great idea. 🙂 ~krissybeth
these are awesome! and are very similiar to the kit i’ve made for friends turning 21 🙂
These are great!! Love them!
LOVE the glasses! I’m now harassing my fiance about getting Charlie and Sue glasses! First it was the pint glasses, and then I saw the hurricane vase glasses and those would absolutely work together to make centerpieces and then everyone gets to take one home… HMMMMMMMM a little more than what I was planning to spend though 🙂 Darn…
The $110 was for 40 glasses, and that included the shipping costs… and they’re extremely high quality! I’ve put the imprint to the test and I can’t make it come off – if you decide to do it, I highly suggest bargainmugs.com – their customer service was awesome. ~krissybeth 🙂
The pint glasses are definitely a great deal.. it looked like I could get 72 for $118! But then I looked at the hurricane vases and thought they could have a dual use, but those came to around $200. And then I’d have to fill them. I’ve added it to my bookmarks though! Thanks 🙂
You’re a life saver!!!! I am planning a wedding in Las Vegas this fall and have been racking my brain for welcome bag ideas that are awesome and appropriate. Just so you know, I will be unashamedly stealing some of these ideas. The bloody mary idea? Stellar. Where did you find mini bottles of tabasco?
We got all the single-sized stuff (except the vodka, of course) at http://www.minimus.biz/ – that was the best price I could find on the mini-tabasco, and I’m a comparison-shopping bargain hound! 🙂
Um yeah, bookmarking that too 🙂 NEAT.
I am so stealing this idea! My wedding is on May 21, which is rumored to be the date of the rapture…so I’m repurposing them to be “End of the World Survival Kits”. Yes!
Where did you get your “in case of emergency” tags? Such a clever idea!! Love it!!
WOW! Love this! I was thinking of doing something like this. I want to make emergency kits and place them by the bar for all of the guests. Hangover cures and little stuff like what they did in their gift bags! Brilliant! [And pretty badass!]
You can get mini bottles of Tabasco and many many other amazing mini things at Cost Plus aka World Market. Stellar for welcome bags and favors.
What a great idea! I don’t drink much and even I love the emergency Bloody Mary kits!! And those glasses are amazing!!!
Just wait til you see the kits I have for this weekends Bachelorette weekend in Vegas. Condoms + Lube! Love it!
Now you just need to add the emergency Bloody Mary kit, and you’re set for the best weekend EVER. 😉
Where did you get the popcorn boxes?! Love them!!!!
Where do you buy the mini items?
