Chansouda and Phalakone are a French couple who grew up and met in Paris, moved to Montreal, and then returned to their roots to get married in Luang Prabang, Laos. They were married in a GORGEOUS villa, Villa Ban Khoy, a French-Lao house which sits on its own small peninsula between two rivers, the Mekong and the Nam Dong.
The day started by giving alms to the monks then the “Yam Nam” water pouring ceremony. The morning's traditional Laos wedding ceremony was held at Sunset Villa, starting with Phalakone and his groomsmen’s singing and dancing parade to the bride, or “Hae Keuy”, followed by the Baci ceremony. They then had a Western wedding in the afternoon that was held further down the river at Villa Ban Khoy Prabang.
Just wait until you see their many traditional outfits followed by their Western wedding attire. It's all gorgeous and mind-blowing and waiting to be witnessed…

Unbelievably beautiful! I am in awe. I will be in a traditional Thai gown (quite similar) for my upcoming wedding but other than some Thai touches it will be a Western wedding. So wonderful to see something like this. It’s hard to find. I’m so envious of the location, and it looks like loads of fun. Thanks for sharing!
And my dad’s big contribution to the conversation: “I love Luang Prabang.”
Aidan is one of the best photographers in Thailand!
Great photos. Very candid and natural.
