This month is the 30th (holy shit!) anniversary of one of my all-time favorite movies, Labyrinth. If you're in my generation, you might remember those early tinglings for the snug-pantsed Bowie. He asks for so little. Just fear him, love him, do as he says and he will be your slave. Okay, enough movie lines for now.
Is anyone seeing the movie in theaters? If not, I'll do you one better. Our friends over at Firefly Path, along with some other super talented vendors, created a most fabulous Labyrinth-themed fashion shoot with their own killer designs. It was originally featured in Faerie Magazine, issue #35 and is too beautiful to ignore… we think it's bound to inspire a fair few fantasy weddings. I must share…
Here are a few more dresses by Firefly Path which were inspired by this design, because we need MOAR YESYESYES fantasy dresses…

My all time FAV movie!! While I won’t be in a big poofy ball gown, my (eventual) wedding will be a masquerade and my first dance will be to “As the World Falls Down”. I just need to design and make my own Labyrinth-worthy wedding dress…(without the poof…) 🙂
Very cool dresses, but do they have permission to use the Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion’s soundtrack song “Peace of Akatosh” as background music? 🙁
This shoot appeared in Faerie Magazine, issue #35, which should be mentioned.
Thank you! We’ll add that to the post.
I’m 98% certain that this is THE BEST THING EVER!
Also, now I really need to watch Labyrinth.
That was amazing!!!! And my all time FAVORITE MOVIE!!!! Now I just have to think of a way to break it to my fiance that he’s wearing a wig and tights.
These are beautiful. Next week is my two year anniversary of my own Labyrinth themed wedding. I didn’t make my husband wear a wig or tights but we (our guests included) wore masquerade masks and walked down the aisle to “As The World Falls Down”. Our pregnancy announcement photos were also Labyrinth inspired because we just can’t let go of a good theme..or 80s Bowie.
