Still thinking about the style, tunes, and chemistry of the film La La Land? So are we! And so was this team of wedding vendors who wanted to channel LA style all the way in Dublin. Yep, it's an Ireland-based La La Land wedding inspiration shoot that channels the colors, whimsy, and gorgeous look of the movie. Let's hear from the photographer about the shoot…
Like many others around the world, I have been mesmerised by La La Land since first watching the movie. We got together a team of like-minded creatives who were eager to recreate the La La Land vibes and transform them into a unique and striking wedding style.
To us, La La Land was all about the magic atmosphere of old Hollywood and prime colours. It’s not easy to turn Dublin into LA, and while we don’t have the purple sunsets, film sets, and an observatory Dublin is not short of stunning venues. The team at The Odeon bar were excited at the opportunity to help us recreate American vibes and made for a stunning backdrop, with the beautiful piano looking like it just came out of Seb’s.
As the main reference to the film we used a colour palette of vibrant prime colours — purples, blues, bright greens, reds, oranges, and yellows. Elements of these hues were used in every aspect of the décor — the florals, the table setting and candles, the invitations, the jewellery, the cake and of course the yellow dress.
