A long time ago, I wrote a reactionary post called “Fuck yeah, kale bouquets.” It was a reaction to people talking shit about some people's choices to have my favorite lettuce featured prominently in their weddings.

Currently, I am planning a wedding, and I still feel strongly about the power of kale and its rightful place as featured decor. So much so, that I've been rounding up so much kale wedding inspiration, that reading this post might just up your fiber content…

Obviously the OG kale bouquet still has my heart.

I love this vegetable centerpiece from The Art of Doing Stuff with beet greens, swiss chard, anise flowers, lavender, parsley, carrot tops, and of course, kale.

Look how cool kale looks just by itself, though! And at $5 a bunch, those are some cheap-ass offbeat floral arrangements. Although, that second-to-last photo is probably what I'm leaning most towards: a fully edible “floral” arrangement that features a lot of kale. It's fun, funky, and perfect for the wedding of two foodies.

Are you planning on incorporating kale into your wedding? How? Where? And can I have some?

  1. I was just wondering about rainbow chard when I got to the second-to-last picture! Purple kohlrabi leaves look beautiful too, as does bronze fennel…
