Melissa and Rad didn’t just get married. They transformed a sun-drenched Sonoma vineyard into a moody, vintage, goth-glam dreamscape. Think: black lace, blood-red roses, bilingual vows, and a Mariachi-led grand entrance, all against the leafy backdrop of Cline Cellars.

This wasn’t a wedding that tried to make goth vibes “palatable.” It was unapologetically rich, deeply personal, and full of color… emotional, aesthetic, and cultural. With Conjured Events leading full-service planning, florals, and design, every moment and detail was curated with the couple’s values and style in mind.

When a bride in a black dress meets a librarian groom

Melissa wore a breathtaking black gown from Sparkle Bridal Couture with dramatic lace sleeves, deep neckline, and hand-beaded floral appliqué. Topping it off? A gold celestial crown from Amaroq Design, smoky eyes, and a bold red lip. Her look balanced vintage pin-up glamour with modern power. We're talking femme fatale meets fairy queen.

Rad’s burgundy three-piece suit from SuitSupply featured black satin lapels, a paisley tie, and a pocket watch chain. His vibe? Suave AF librarian who moonlights as a Latinx rockstar. Together, they radiated main-character energy in every frame.

The wedding party mirrored the palette with jewel-toned flair: red robes during prep, rich florals in hand, and a floral crown atop teal ruffled tulle for Rad's daughter (who looked straight out of a woodland fantasy novel!).

A bilingual ceremony full of symbolism

The ceremony, held under a circular arbor dripping in red and white roses, felt sacred without being stuffy. Melissa and Rad’s closest friends officiated… friends who had just gotten married themselves, continuing a beautiful tradition of love passed hand-to-hand!

They included a unity wine ritual, blending red and white wine into a shared goblet to symbolize harmony in difference. (The symbolism was real, but also… visually stunning.) And in a move we wish more weddings normalized, non-English-speaking guests were offered live translation through headsets—making sure no one missed the couple’s heartfelt vows.

Rad’s daughter was the flower girl, and she later shared a father-daughter dance with him at the reception that left no dry eye. The multigenerational love was tangible.

Goth details, but make it heart-forward

The welcome table? A vintage suitcase overflowing with artifacts of their relationship: old photos, sketchbook pages, drawings, ticket stubs, photo strips, postcards, and a framed caricature marking four years together. It felt like a pop-up museum exhibit called “Melissa & Rad: A Love Story.”

Nearby, an ofrenda (altar) sat on wine barrels, bursting with color—vibrant marigold garlands, heirloom photos, cans of beer, Reese’s, Cheez-Its, and a pack of Marlboro Lights. It was part Día de los Muertos, part snack shrine, and entirely perfect. A sign asked guests to unplug during the ceremony and stay fully present.

Books were used as table numbers, as an on-theme touch for Rad’s librarian background. Velvet table runners in deep teal and black tapered candles set the tone, while mismatched glassware and vintage gold chargers added texture.

And then there was the cake. A two-tier matte black number with a red geode-like slash, perched on a black chandeliered cake stand.

A reception with culture, rhythm, and dessert

Melissa and Rad’s grand entrance was led by a full Mariachi band from Mariachi San Carlos, setting the tone for a joyful and deeply cultural celebration. Heart of Gold DJs took over from there, mixing cumbia, salsa, 90s throwbacks, and rock and roll for a dance floor that never emptied.

Dinner, curated by Pinx Catering, was a multicultural feast combining Filipino, Mexican, and Italian dishes—a love letter to the couple’s roots and favorite flavors. Dessert? A red-and-black altar of deliciousness. Tres leches in clear cups. Red velvet cookies stacked on gothic pedestals. A churro cart by Mely’s Churros serving fresh churros with dipping sauces.

The whole event felt like a gothic fairytale meets joyful Latinx block party… curated by a vintage librarian and a glamorously spooky goddess.

And the vibe behind the vibe?

Melissa and Rad had been together for 10 years when they tied the knot, and their relationship showed in every interaction—calm, playful, grounded. Melissa was balancing work and school during planning (superhuman), and still managed to laugh through the stress. The team at Conjured Events said they were “an amazing couple,” and honestly? That warmth radiates in every photo.

Fun fact: Melissa’s makeup artist @glamouralchemyy later hired Conjured Events for her own wedding… and Melissa even helped assemble her flowers! It’s a full-circle, full-heart kind of story.
