Lucas described their super romantic proposal…
A tradition we decided to start was writing thank you letters to each other. I used my thank you letter for my proposal. However, before she got my letter, I took her through a series of clues that I had hidden around our house. I would give her clues like, ask me about our first date, ask me about our trip to Chicago, etc. She would ask and the story I told would lead her to the next clue. There were 10 clues in total and the next to last clue said, ask me about my thank you letter. I handed her the letter that described how much I loved her and how lucky I was. She read it, and then at the end of the letter I wrote “Now, ask me about the box in my hand.” That’s when I got on one knee, both of us tearing up, and asked her to marry me.
Ariel on why they decided to elope to Paris…
I think the only thing we cared about was marrying each other and the idea to elope really made that possible. We were able to focus on the sole reason we were there. It was a small and intimate ceremony, and the backdrop of a beautiful city like Paris made the day even more special. Getting married in a place like Paris was a dream neither one of us ever thought about, but we are so happy we made that decision.
The most anticipated moment of our wedding day was to finally being able to read and listen to the vows we wrote to each other. Our ceremony was the most special and anticipated part of that day in Paris.
Our advice to other couples: Whatever it is you see or envision, go for it regardless of what other people are going to say or think. Be open-minded and don’t put too much pressure on the details. Focus on what is important and your commitment to your partner.
