The offbeat wedding crasher: the story of how I showed up at a reader’s wedding

As those of you who follow Offbeat Bride on Facebook already know, this weekend I crashed a reader’s wedding (and live-updated the whole thing as I got progressively more inebriated). Melaney & John’s small town Tex-Mex dinosaur rock wedding

Let’s see here: dinosaurs (and a dino adult piñata!), a small town outdoor setting with a big cocktail gathering before the ceremony, and 34 DOZEN tamales… where do I sign up for this wedding? Oh, and don’t forget the groom’s and the bride’s mother’s live band performances, the Monty Python call-out in the ceremony, and the unintentional ass-grab by the groom during the first dance!

Robots, I Spy, s’mores, and a secret get-away table

Crystal and Justin’s wedding took place at Molly Ward Gardens in Poulsbo, WA where Justin worked as a teenager. They rocked their favorite themes: robots, the Seattle Sounders, colored glass, and chalkboard art. Plus, there was the added bonus of random wigs at the reception, an “I Spy” game, lots of pie and s’mores, and some kick-ass cheering shots! Oh, and don’t miss the motorboating shot. It’s hot and hilarious.

Katina & Nefi’s intimate DIY state park wedding

Things to love about this gorgeous forest-y wedding: comic book paper flowers, the bride’s amazing vintage dress, their geeky location signs, lots of DIY projects, and their mutual deep love of FOOD (and each other!). Plus, they are both chic as hell. Wait until you hear the bride’s sneaky trick on the groom. Hint: it involves cake.
