Why you should consider boudoir photos. Or, how I learned to stop worrying and love my body
This past Saturday I had a boudoir shoot, and it was honestly the most liberating experience of my life. I was nervous and apprehensive going into it. I’ve never been completely comfortable with my body, and even less so now that I am in my 30s…
Hello, I’m the bride. My name is Doormat.
I have only been working in a bridal salon for near a month now and already I have seen some appalling behaviours that seriously need to stop. I have seen far too many people come in and out of my store who have let themselves be walked all over by family members and loved ones. It isn’t right.
Would you lie to vendors about your wedding to get a cheaper deal?
Frustrated with services that cost more once the word “wedding” is attached, some folks choose to lie to vendors to save money.
How to find a wheelchair-friendly wedding dress
What dresses are best for Offbeat Brides in a wheelchair? And how can you feel like you’re looking AT your guests and not UP at them when coming down the aisle in a chair?
Should we mention our registry on invitations to our reception?
“My fiance and I are considering eloping, with then a small-scale party at our place when we get back. Is it still kosher to say on those invites that we’re registered?”
Fun with long line bras: A plus size round-up
One thing I have learned from this experience is that you need to be flexible with your size. Your bra size is only your bra size for normal bras. We all go to the store and pick out our favorite brand or style and don’t even question our sizes. In specialty bras, your bra size is just a starting point. I do recommend having a professional fitting if you haven’t had one done recently — you might be surprised (I know I was when I had it done). Don’t be afraid to size up and size down in both the cups and the bands. Every brand sizes differently! And if you are buying online make sure to double check the return policy!
