Jenn and David's super color wedding had so many awesome details that Lisa Frank would love: rainbow pom-poms, purple hair, and even a professional beat boxer! But one feature got our mouths watering… a s'mores bar! In addition to their whimsical bear-topped cake and cupcakes, they offered up a make-your-own s'mores bar with a big vat of gooey chocolate, tons of marshmallows, and of course, classic graham crackers.

Here are some tips to make your own s'mores bar awesome…

Gourmet S'mores Kit

Offer a gourmet twist

  • Instead of just plain chocolate, provide dark chocolate, peanut butter cups, caramel squares, chocolate nut bars, and/or Peppermint Patties.
  • Instead of just graham crackers, offer up Nilla Wafers, Pizzelles, Oreos, salty crackers, Digestives, or your own favorite cracker or cookie bases. (Tip: salty can be awesome!)
  • Add more toppings like cinnamon, sprinkles, chopped/ground nuts, coconut, chili powder, and sea salt. Fancy-pantsness will ensue.

Provide a sign with a few “recipes” like:

  • Samoa: graham cracker, caramel square, coconut, and marshmallow
  • Mexican Hot Chocolate: graham cracker, milk chocolate, cinnamon, chili powder, and marshmallow
  • Salted Caramel: Saltine, caramel square, marshmallow, sea salt

Serve them up in pretty jars

Serve up the marshmallows, toppings, and graham crackers in clear glass apothecary jars or Mason jars to make it all look shmancy.

Offer up pre-warmed chocolate

You can totally offer chocolate bars in your s'mores station — it's classic, after all — but a chocolate fountain can be pretty awesome, too. Plus, you can add other dippables such as fruit pieces, cake squares, pretzel rods, and more to make it a whole big treats table. Who needs a cake?

Provide a way to roast the ‘mallows

Marshmallow roasting forks or simple wooden skewers will keep guests' fingers free from burns, which is super important.

Then they can roast the marshmallows over a few cheap heat fuel cans. Easy peasy.

Make your s'mores bar purty!

Pre-sliced wooden slabs make any setup look more rustic and campfire-like. You can find these on Amazon, Etsy, hardware stores, and maybe your own backyard!

Provide some s'mores bar signage

Lead the way to the chocolate-y goodness with a s'mores station sign or banner.

S'more wedding favor

Make it your favor!

Adding in some favor bags and ties can take this treat to favor level, saving you some cash in favors. Or skip the bar part entirely, and pre-package them up for the table. It won't be quite as customizable, but it'll still be delicious.
