Anyway, getting back to business, this week's Monday Montage starts off with a bang (pun intended ;)). It also has some impressive lookin' ladies, a little steampunk, a little goth, a few umbrellas and some good old fashioned boogie time.
Watch out. Jessica, has a gun and she knows how to use it…
… She also has a gaggle of immaculately dress groomsmen escorting her — I wouldn't wanna mess with that. Also, the antique feel of this photo totally plays up the Victorian/Steam-punk theme. I dig.
Speaking of antiques, how neat is Adrian's antique, gold locket?
Now, I'll zoom out a little so you can see how insanely beautiful the rest of Adrian looks. The purple dress was definitely a good choice, the color really makes Adrian's baby blues pop, and that bouquet matches it phenomenally. THE COLORS!

The only thing better then one uber hot bride in a gorgeous wedding dress… TWO beautiful ladies in lovely dresses.
Check out these two ghosts or Justin and Kelly having their first dance. Spooky. Also, you MUST take a closer look at their mind-blowing make-up. They sure know how to throw a Halloween wedding.
Dancing photos are my favorite. This costume-filled Conga Line from Alyson and Jeff's wedding certainly doesn't disappoint.
Alex and Greg do a damn good job at pulling off this American Gothic inspired wedding photo.
Now, we shall move on from American Gothic to Victorian gothic, with this sex-ay photo of Autumn and Robert. They had their victorian-themed wedding at the Edgar Allen Poe Museum.
Thanks to Murphy's Law, it started to rain pour during Cristin and Neb's wedding ceremony. Luckily, they came prepared… with umbrellas! Even though the rain ruined their CD player (which meant no ceremonial music) and nearly destroyed their wedding papers, they sloughed it off and had an amazing wedding.
Speaking of weather, Corinne and her man didn't leave it to Mother Nature to decide. They are both Special FX artists in the film industry, so they had a Tim Burton Movie themed wedding. The snow = freakin' cool special effect. It totally ties Edward Scissorhands and The Nightmare Before Christmas into their theme.

As a longtime offbeat bride reader (who started reading in preparation for my brother’s and sister’s upcoming weddings (very different, but equally cool), I am thrilled to see my brother and new sister-in-law’s wedding photo up!! The wedding was INCREDIBLE. Congrats Justin and Kelly!
Ugh…amazing ideas…too bad my fiance would never go with them…its ok, we are having burlesque themed wedding but steampunk would be so cool.
Mandy, a burlesque wedding sounds freaking amazing! My husband had to limit me to just Victorian/Steampunk as our theme…otherwise it would’ve been Victorian/Steampunk/Burlesque/Circus/Vaudville themed….

being a big proponent of accuracy in speech/writing, i just wanted to point out that while it’s impeccably victorian (with the possible exception of the one guy (is that the groom?) who appears to be wearing a woman’s hat), that second photo really isn’t steampunk at all. steampunk involves blending modern technology/feel with victorian-era style, like an iMac with a brass case and an old mechanical-typewriter-style keyboard, while that photo is pure victorian style with no modern aspects. it’s wonderfully done, with magnificent little touches like the teacup that just bring it all together…it’s just not steampunk.
in case anybody actually cares what “steampunk” means. which they may not. in which case my humble little post cringes and braces itself for deletion…

Thanks for pointing that out. While the second photo may appear more Victorian then “steampunk,” their overall wedding had a “steampunk/victorian” theme. And on OBB we like to let the brides label and self-identify.
Thanks, Coco! Just because the photo lacks modern aspects doesn’t mean it’s not steampunk. Steampunk can be summed up as “Victorian science fiction” as pointed out in a very informative article by G.D. Falksen, who happens to be an expert on the steampunk genre and aesthetic, and probably knows more about the subject than anyone else around.
