My shoe posts almost always focus on shoes that are either A) loud, like I wear 'em or B) pale, like the majority of brides wear 'em. I almost never include shoes that are brown or black because sometimes they can feel too “daily wear” and not WEDDING-Y enough. I guess if I'mma go non-traditional, I opt toward my own candy-colored tastes, instead of the shoes that are just like my heart: black and sparkling.
So today, in honor of all brides goth, noire, and just a little bit dark-hearted, I'm going to focus on the glittery black pumps and flats. Oh, and can you find the one pair of shoes that cost HALF my wedding budget? *SHRIEK!*
Y'all know the routine by now. I like loud shoes -- even the ones I could never afford or ever walk in. If you're looking... Read more

I am in LOVE with that random bonus shoe! I wore black shoes with my ivory dress for my wedding b/c I had such a hard time finding shoes that were comfortable and fit. Ended up that my shoes just pretty much faded into the background – they do not draw the eye in pictures – and I’ve worn them A LOT since the wedding. Yeay for black wedding shoes!
+1 love the bonus shoe
I was looking for the expensive one in the tall shoes & it looks like the smallest, most unassuming, is the most expensive instead. $545 flats?! Holy what!
Try the shoe above the $540 flat. I’m pretty sure that’s the budget buster.
Yeah, those $540 Alexander McQueen flats are pretty boggling. I mean, to be fair: A) Alexander McQueen B) sequined skull on the front. But yeah. Shoes like that are meant for window shopping!
” to be fair: A) Alexander McQueen B) sequined skull on the front”
Fair is definitely fair!
It doesnt seem to matter what color shoes are, I will love them if they are sparkly!!
Those $2.3k shoes had better have their own internal booster jets. The heel looks big enough!
No but they do get basic cable.
I have mixed feelings about Zanottis. On one hand, I think they should be commended for having a new and distinctive silhouette. On the other hand… is it so new? Cows and horses have been sporting this style for eons.
I think I guessed the expensive shoe with my first click–the Giuseppe Zanottis? Or as I am calling them, sparkly space boots? That’s… impossible. But if someone buys them, I want pics!
ME TOO!
Black + glam?! I’ll take a pair of each plz k thx.
I think black for wedding shoes is just so swanky, especially if the wedding party in in black. Think of ’em as little foot tuxedos.
FOOT TUXEDOS!
/dies of shoe lust
Ariel, you just crack me up. I wondered when the tuxedo shoes would show up! Modcloth had this kickass pair of booties that had a dress shirt collar on the top with ties on them. FUCKING TIES. Those shoes made my life but they stopped selling them. 🙁
I need those so badly all I can do is sit here and scream “AHHH! AHHH! AHHH!” in my head.
I love the silhoutte of the Giuseppe’s, but prefer these ones by Jeffrey Campbell: http://www.amazon.com/Jeffrey-Campbell-Prickly-Black-Leather/dp/B008VVPOH4/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_nC?ie=UTF8&colid=1IQQ7HD9CK2FL&coliid=I37D9WK3ZXUKV3 Still sparkly & unique, but with a little more gothy falir 😉
Oh yeah, and they cost $230, compared to $2300!
I just keep thinking, would somebody *actually* wear these? I see those things and I just think I could use them to kill a spider without having to haul out the vacuum, but as a girl who spent $80 on wedding heels (4 times the price of the shoes I wear daily), I just can’t even conceive of dropping several thousand bucks on uncomfortable space boots!
Thank you for this roundup! I will wear a black and white dress and I will totally rock black shoes (with a hint of white) which I’ll gladly wear again and again once the day’s over.
I’m wearing black shoes to my wedding… I love these! I’m wearing a pair of black velvet 13cm heels with antique brooches on the peeptoe 🙂
