To DIY or not to DIY: Finding your niche in the creative scale
For many of you, you might look on Offbeat Bride and find a LOT of different choices in the DIY department. How to make a certain bouquet out of brooches or ornaments, maybe you want to DIY your Save the Dates somehow or even all of your invitations. For some of you, that might seem too much. For the rest of you, it’s right up your alley. And then there’s a small portion of us who are a little scrapbook/sewing savvy, but aren’t too sure of ourselves with these bigger projects. If you’re not sure what your niche is creatively, here are a few tips you may want to consider.
Flora & Kristy’s full moon fairytale wedding by the sea
Nods to Paganism, Celtic readings, and flower fairies make this waterfront wedding truly magical. And at the reception, there was even a father/daughter/father/daughter dance! And prepare your eyes from the awesomely scandalous garter photo!
Charmaine & Chris’ vintage diner and opera house wedding
After first meeting outside of a retro diner, these two had one of their two ceremonies at that same diner. I fell in love with the bride’s custom-made lacy, layered dress, three-generation photo, and multi-colored sweater. The men of the wedding party looked mighty spiffy in their bow ties and argyle, too. On top of it all, they were able to stay under a pretty tight budget with two ceremonies and a restaurant reception.
Oh Noes, I Think My Wedding Will Be Normal!
You may think I’m crazy since our wedding was actually pretty darn offbeat and unique. But it didn’t really feel that offbeat, and I was wondering if I should be concerned. I saw all these seriously amazing weddings on Offbeat Bride and the Tribe and I wanted to be among that crowd. Then I realized that the fact that it felt normal was awesome. It actually meant we were doing it right.
