Amie and Michelle met by accident when they lived in opposite Carolinas (one in the North, one in the South). Thanks to Tinder's poor GPS skills, they matched anyway. After that hilarious first date story, they remained together through the distance until moving to Florida together. And then eventually across the country to Seattle where they had their whimsical “animal menagerie” wedding.
Their original plan was to elope in a daffodil field, but instead they opted for a relaxed ceremony in the heart of Seattle's Capitol Hill neighborhood where personality and expressiveness outweighed decor and tradition. Capitol Hill has a lot of pride around its rich LGBTQ culture and history, and years ago the mayor unveiled 11 rainbow crosswalks during Pride Week as a reminder of its roots. They also grabbed some portraits around several other notable locations in the neighborhood, such as Unicorn Bar and Chophouse Row.
The ceremony and reception itself took place at Sole Repair, which is a stunning window-lit urban venue and fit their aesthetic perfectly. Just wait until you see the surprise unicorn first look and the animal parade at the reception!
