The Offbeat Bride: Angela, Hairstylist
Her offbeat partner: Rob, IT Tech
Date and location of wedding: Caroline Country Club, Denton, MD — June 1, 2013
Our offbeat wedding at a glance: I love color, so I wanted everything to be colorful. All my bridesmaids wore a different color, and all of the groomsmen (after much bribing) wore a different color to match the girls in a pastel shade. I wore glitter heels from Kate Spade, and had purple hair.

We had lots of DIY projects including the inexpensive (but time-consuming!) backdrop made from streamers that provided a colorful background for a lot of photos. I also love to bake, and put rainbow sprinkles on everything that I possibly could.
Tell us about the ceremony:
We had a short ceremony, mainly because we had the wedding outside and we knew it would be hot. We had a sand ceremony with sand from the beach in Hawaii where Rob proposed. I love glitter, so we ended up mixing the sand from the beach with rainbow glitter instead of two different colored sands. The sunlight hitting the glitter was beautiful!
My favorite moment:
The most meaningful part of the wedding was being surrounded by both of our families and the people we love while walking down the aisle to the man with whom I will be spending the rest of my life. It truly was an amazing feeling.
What was the most important lesson you learned from your wedding?
The most important lesson I learned from my wedding was to make sure you have EVERYTHING in writing from your vendors. I also appreciated having more than a year to plan the wedding. We were able to save and pay off our vendors one by one and have nothing to pay except tips for the vendors when the wedding was over.
