Chris and Anne’s Chicago elopement took place one April afternoon on the six year anniversary of the day they met. The guest list included immediate family, including their adorable pups, Coorah and Luka. It was important to them that their wedding day be more of a casual, laid-back affair surrounded by those who love them most. Anne’s sister officiated the intimate lakefront ceremony on Lake Michigan underneath two budding trees.
Afterward, Chris, Anne, and their photographer hopped on a trolley and headed downtown to Stan’s Donuts, one of Chicago’s BEST donut joints. Because Chris had recently acquired a Lifetime Supply of Stan’s(!), EVERYONE got free donuts. I’m officially full of envy. The staff even set aside a whole box of Anne’s favorite (Raspberry Bismark) even though it wasn’t on the Monday menu.
After the donut break, they took a stroll in downtown Chicago for some iconic Chicago portraits (you’ll recognize a few of them!). Don’t miss the first look WITH doggos, Anne’s handmade flower crowns for the pups and her vintage engagement ring which a family heirloom passed down from Chris’ paternal grandmother, with which he proposed. Swoon. Grab your nearest donut and feast your eyes on this intimate Chicago elopement…
