I don't know about you, but I get positively SQUIDGY about licking envelopes, and come wedding invitation time, your tongue is going to be on overdrive. Unless you decide to rest your tongue (possibly escape death) AND give your envelopes a pop of color by sealing your wedding invitations with Japanese Washi adhesive tape.
Modcloth and Amazon have some awesome options…
I'm a big fan of these flora and fauna tapes, pictured above.
For my vintage-lovers in the house, you can't NOT seal your invites with these vintage Post Office tapes.
Even Martha Stewart has gotten in on the Washi-style tape party.
Omg, I think I found the perfect Offbeat Bride tape pack — birds, flowers in a funky color, and wood grain!
My job here is done.

Such a fabulous idea!! LOVE patterned tape and pretty paper products. What a great way to seal your wedding invites!
* glue stick
Or do what I did and force the task on to someone else less squidged out!
I actually like the way envelope glue tastes. I am weirdo.
I love paper tape for sealing envelopes and I didn’t even THINK of using it for our invites. Excellent! Happy Tape has a TON of different paper tape styles of all colors, too! http://www.happytape.bigcartel.com/
There will be no Susan accidents/deaths anymore thanks to the tape!
@twobirds
Ha! I was excited because I bought the papers and envelopes on for 75% when a stationery store we liked closed, and one of our friends said: “So I can see it now George, your cheap invites kill your bride, good job.” Which I’d already thought of, but It’s scary how much I think things like this though, like if our dollar store candles will be more flammable… stuff like that… it doesn’t pay to worry.
