Speaking of storybooks… I love that these wedding invitations look like pages torn right from a book. They even tea-stained the pages!
How about this idea: a library-themed RSVP that even includes space for the guests to write in their three favorite authors?

I actually considered many of these invitations for my literary-themed wedding, but couldn’t be ok with them because they weren’t colorful enough! So what I am doing is using invitations that are sort of “bold and typographical” stylistically, and have big purple flowers on them, and then I am going to use pages of a book as the backers. I think it will be a great way to combine the romance and colors of my wedding with the literary theme!
At some point I really need to get photos up of our invites…. they are so fabulously nerdy 🙂
Nice! I’m trying to come up with placecards that look like books. Any ideas?
I’m going to make these seed wallets which will act as both placecards and favours

I’m going to stand them upright so they look like a book and embellish the ‘spine’ area with a strip of fabric or ribbon. Hopefully it will look like a miniature book.
I think the best invites I’ve ever seen are the “Marauder’s Map” invites at “one little m”

It’s a literary allusion but not overtly so…unless you’re a big Harry Potter fan.
Oh, I can’t wait until our photographer takes some pretty pictures of our invites, but my crappy iPhone ones will have to do for now. Our wedding, in two weeks, is at the main downtown library, and a friend of ours whose a graphic designer, made these amazing library themed invites for us!

These are so amazing! My wife and I are both English majors, and we did a more subtle nod (dictionary paper bouquet [http://www.etsy.com/listing/71692717/dictionary-paper-flower-bouquet] and hairpins). We want another ceremony in a few years, with more people, and I’m totally coming back to this post.
These are all so awesome! I’m doing a bookish wedding and although it’s too late for the invites, you’ve put me on the prowl for bookish programs! Looks like minted might have some too
I loved our DIY programs but these are so so so amazing!
What a stunning effort. Do you design postcards for publicity? Love to use you to help publicize my cocktail duo – Amica Duo
Even though it might be considered more “nerdy” than strictly academic, I’m gagging to word invitations as, instead of “Mr. & Mrs. So-and-so” as “The ancient and most noble houses of…” as a reference to Harry Potter 😉
That’s not Dewey decimal in #7! It’s Library of Congress classification.
These are fantastic. I have been looking around for our literature themed wedding for cool invitations and these are all perfect! We are doing Harry Potter/comic book and other book flower bouquets, books stacked on the tables and author’s names instead of table numbers. Oh and our place cards are going to be old card catalog cards with our guests names typewritten on them! I am so excited!
aaahhhh I love all these!
Our wedding aesthetic is something like “Absent-minded professor meets brave explorer”, and we picked these invites from Royal Steamline and changed the wording to be about us going on a grand quest to find true love!

We’re doing a literary theme as well! Our Minted invites were very very simple, but I think it’s the simplicity that I loved the most about them. http://www.minted.com/search?s=johannis&x=0&y=0
