Lauren & Steve’s homey family reunion barn wedding
When we feature weddings with barns AND tentacle content in one week, it can only mean it’s BARN–ACLE WEEK! Today we’ve got a lovely Midwest barn setting, some adorable fur babies, and a sweet, poetry-reading grandma.
This sci-fi wedding is sending us over the moon
Robots and aliens have invaded weddings this week! It’s making me want to break it down in a binary solo. This couple totally embraces their love of retro sci-fi with ray gun boutonnieres, outer space-themed favors, mini rocket centerpieces, and an AMAZING little alien city invasion that the groom built for the guest book table. It’s basically (forgive me) out of this world. Just watch out for those damned dirty apes…
Sarah & Davy’s love in the key of honky-tonk wedding
When the groom is a professional honkey-tonker, and you live near an amazing little dive called Max’s Place, it makes all the sense in the world to celebrate that honkey-tonk lifestyle with a cowboy and music-themed bash. The kick-ass outfits on the bands (yep, all of them) alone are worth a look.
Michelle & Dan’s scooters and papel picado wedding
This wedding is an explosion of turquoise and red, along with touches of what they love: Mexican folkloric art, scooters, and their Boston Terrier! This bride may not have been a fan of weddings initially, but it looks like she and her groom embraced personalization and ended up loving it. And seriously, their dog in a handmade dress is too adorable to miss.
Dagny & Charlie’s toys noise and tattoos goofball wedding
Take some noisemakers, fortune telling fish, wax lips and mustaches, oversized eyeglasses, and a temporary tattoo booth and you’ll have an awesome way to distract your guests from making a big scene when you’re a shy couple. Plus, SO MUCH FUN. This couple definitely knows how to throw a good party that is true to their needs.
Caitlin & Kaitlyn’s secret garden lesbian wedding
This is one of those weddings where some family drama has a silver lining and a a happy alternative ending. It also has lots of geektastic references to Doctor Who and Tolkien, of which I totally approve. It’s obvious that these two have an awesome community of love helping them create and celebrate.
