Love has no age: why we love this lesbian wedding
This week’s back-to-nature theme would not be complete without Marie and Prue’s wedding under a 100-year-old turpentine tree at a fabulous estate called (what else) The Turpentine Tree in Kurrajong, NSW, Australia. And the photo of Prue’s granddaughter’s fist-pumping approval? Perma-smile engage.
The backwards wedding: can you have a wedding reception BEFORE your ceremony?
Tash and Jules’ Tasmanian wedding at Christmas Hills Raspberry Farm was a bit backwards, in the best sense: the reception came before the ceremony! And of course, the party continued after the ceremony, so it was like two parties in one (with two purple dresses, no less!). Tash sang a sweet song to Jules at the reception: “Hey Jude” became “Hey Jules,” and EVERYONE joined in, including the venue crew. Let’s just let Tash herself explain how that felt. OH, and wait until you get a load of the LEGO cake.
Leah & Jaime’s Friday the 13th dance-fest wedding
A Friday the 13th wedding with a zombie-inspired ceremony, and skull details (including matching tattoos!) — this means a pretty rad and gothic wedding with tons of gorgeous touches. And wait until you get a load of their reception dance-fest details: an LED dance floor AND a must-see Dance Dance Revolution arcade setup, which led to a most excellent impromptu group dance to Grease songs!
When Aussie anime lovers get married: A Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya cosplay wedding
One thing you must know about this couple, Karl and Kristina, is that they had this engagement shoot. Yep, that’s a cosplay of the anime series The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, which was a shared interest when they met. Their wedding, while not an exercise in cosplay, totally had veins of their anime love throughout (including the main characters of their favorite show as the cake toppers!).
