Ashlee and Kace had a simple and intimate ceremony at the Rockefeller Greenhouse in Cleveland, ending the day with a night of dancing at the House of Blues Cleveland. This was a very small and simple Winter wedding — a celebration of our relationship. There were 17 guests in attendance, just immediate family and best friends. We met in the dead of winter at a small college chapel for the ceremony, then went to a restaurant down the street for dinner. We had few decorations, no theme, no wedding party, no rehearsal dinner, no formal invitations, no gifts, no dancing — and it was glorious.

Mary and Emily had been together for ten years waiting for gay marriage to be legalized. Three days after the ban was overturned, Mary called Emily’s mom to ask for her hand in marriage. Her mom’s response was, “Well, it’s about time.” Our favorite part was how they danced into the ceremony that ended with their guests forming a half circle around them. They then shared a dance before the ceremony started and another dance after.
