Riley and Anei’s Wisconsin backyard wedding
Riley and Anei had a lovely backyard ceremony at Riley’s childhood home in Madison, WI full of sweet details like an antique bathtub for a cooler, farmer’s market flowers, tons of string lights, and a striking bridal pantsuit for which we fell head over heels. And I’m thinking you will, too. Let’s see more photos of the outfits and hear about their ceremony and challenges in planning this whole event as a trans/queer couple
The handmade masks at this Chicago Halloween wedding are #goals
Sam and Justin’s Chicago Halloween wedding featured handmade costumes, vinyls, a flower girl throwing googly eyes, and a first look in a cemetery. Before the ceremony, they rocked some portraits at Laurie’s Planet of Sound and Ash’s Magic Shop. Our favorite part was the elaborate handmade Halloween masks and subsequent mask makeouts. Halloween couples: it’s time to be inspired, and like the sign says, “Let’s get weird.”
The ’80s and homebrew meet at this Aussie-American rustic wedding
’80s rock, a rad barn venue, TONS of DIYed details, and so much homebrew. It’s a gorgeously wild ride of a wedding and we’re here to share it. Don’t miss the travel signs, the bride’s lace dress, the rustic decor, the “mad love” ring book, and the awesomely mismatched champagne-colored dressed wedding party.
Michelle & Phil’s Oscars in space sci-fi extravaganza
This sophisticated sci-fi wedding was truly an Oscars in space epic adventure with Wookiee cookies, a lightsaber bouquet, and the most gorgeous custom-made green and gold down we’ve seen. Don’t miss the spatula references in the ceremony (with matching tattoos!) and aptly named sci-fi-themed drink menu.
Don your disguise for this planetarium masquerade wedding
Stacy and Mikey were married under the stars at the Michigan Science Center, with an elaborate masquerade ball reception held at the Crofoot Ballroom two weeks later, on October 30. Masked guests were entertained by the Detroit Circus Company’s flame throwers, stilt walkers, contortionists, and trapeze artists. Just wait until you see Stacy and Mikey’s reception garb and makeup — it is seriously a sight to behold. Let’s check out the gorgeous ceremony and wildly-coiffed reception of your masquerade dreams.
The sweetest vintage country queer wedding you’ll see today
Cat eye glasses, a vintage coat, a dapper-as-hell suit, and tattoos you’ll stop to read over and over — this sweet little vintage country wedding is making our day. Don’t miss the gorgeous barn, bear + unicorn cake topper, and adorable DIY details. Oh, and we learned our new favorite motto about DIY: “you can do it [yourself] if you put your back into it.”
