Mari-Anne & Larry’s big fat pagan handfasting
An enchanted forest theme, costumes, homemade mead, and a handfasting… we’re in the mood for some fantastical forest-y love! Add in a giant inflatable D20, some DIY, and a few choice vow alterations, and you’ve got all kinds of fun twists. Plus, you’ll love who walked the bride down the aisle!
Sarah & Corey’s budget Viking wedding with a pop culture twist
Vikings, Star Wars, and superheroes — oh my! This warm weather wedding has major charm, lots of DIY cosplay action, and a good group of participating guests to make it fun. With a little Viking heritage, lots of movie soundtrack music, and some name mispronunciation, there’s a lot to see here.
Jenne & Alex’s Viking belly dancing backyard wedding
After a wedding (or two) under their belt, it was time to make this one their own: Vikings, a fiery red dress, belly dancing performers (who dragged everyone up to dance!), and a processional song written by the groom. Join us (and Geoff Peterson) in reading about this backyard shindig.
3 ways to hack your IKEA cake server
I picked up this set of plain, white, plastic cake servers at IKEA for $5.99. I cut my cake with these bad jacksons and all was well. But almost everything is a blank canvas to a crafter, especially when it’s priced affordably, so I’ve put together three customized serving sets fit for an offbeat celebration. These were all achieved in one evening using materials found at a major craft store.
