Andrea & Peter’s secret month-long Scotland elopement
This week we’re celebrating intimate weddings with destination elopements, cozy city hall vows, and private romantic ceremonies. It’s the warm fuzzies on a smaller scale. Today’s wedding is a doozy: a SECRET destination wedding in Scotland complete with tartan, a Scottish handfasting, and a month-long vacation following the wedding.
Gillian & Mark’s offbeat lite transatlantic wedding
This wedding packs a visual punch with a gorgeous cathedral in Scotland, awesome kilts, and most amazing sunny day for the UK. The handmade dress (made by the bride’s mother!) is a testament to craftsmanship. Oh, and the gorgeous art deco-inspired cake, and unexpected wedding crashers are worth a look too!
Wedding party madness, two kinds of castles, and some nom-tastic cakes
The Flickr Pool was teeming with photos of wedding parties that I had to share. Plus, there was a bouncy castle, a REAL castle in Scotland, and some nom-worthy cakes with amazing details. Check out this week’s reader submissions in this week’s Monday Montage.
Maureen & Derek’s Scottish humanist two-part wedding
This two-part wedding had an intimate humanist ceremony followed by amazing seafood at a local restaurant and then a cracking ceilidh for the rest of the guests the next day. Though there were some hiccups with the liquor license, this wild bunch still managed to leave some blood on the dance floor from the “dance of death!” Wild, woolly, and amazing. Would you want it any other way?
A Scotland wedding with an electric blue gown and a sword fight
These two met during a charity clunker car race from London to Mongolia. While that’s cool enough, their wedding takes the cake with the bride’s fantastic gown and the couple’s first sword fight.
Claire & Stevie’s Sydney meets Edinburgh garden wedding
A garden ceremony and beautiful old world stables make for a major statement, especially when you’ve never seen the venue and are planning it from across the world. These two somehow managed to craft an amazing Scottish party from all the way in Australia. Oh, and you might want to see how the bride managed to create her fantastic skirt and blouse combination. Black tulle and white ruffles… I die.
