Jenne & Alex’s Viking belly dancing backyard wedding
After a wedding (or two) under their belt, it was time to make this one their own: Vikings, a fiery red dress, belly dancing performers (who dragged everyone up to dance!), and a processional song written by the groom. Join us (and Geoff Peterson) in reading about this backyard shindig.
Erin & Jeff’s Scottish tartan and balloon animal wedding
A ruby red gown, lots of Scottish influences, and a friend with connections into a favorite photo setting meant a pretty stellar day for this couple. She’s theatrical, he brought the tartan — let’s get down and line dance! Just watch out for rogue balloon animals. Apparently they get around.
Clare & John’s colourful informal mega-DIYed wedding
DIYing some details is one thing, but this couple self-catered, had all DIY decor, and the bride made and embroidered her own gown. Plus, the groom actually composed and recorded the ceremony music himself! Add in their multicolored theme with the goal of an informal food and games afternoon, and you’re in for a treat.
Maria & Daniel’s snowed-in gothic burlesque wedding
When you’re gamers, metalheads, and all-around cool people, you can make an equally cool wedding with gothic details, a lovely black gown, and burlesque performers. But this pair also had to deal with mountains of snow keeping their guests trapped at home! Good thing they knew how to live stream it all from their laptop. Technology saves the day!
