A capelet, cootie catchers, and a giant doughnut at this Georgia wedding
Emily and Tim take the prize for masters of subtlety. At a glance, you may not even notice the bitchin’ geeky and superhero details because everything is just so damned elegant! But those details are there and they are FUN: a little red capelet (to match Emily’s subtle fire engine red hair streaks), D20 cookie favors, and their Batman and Superman sneakers.
Jodi & Kim’s glow sticks and bling wedding
This wedding has an official “flower disbursement” and “ring security agents.” Basically, they mean business. On top of that, a dog walked down the aisle, a fish was memorialized, and glow sticks featured prominently in the unity ceremony. I think we’re in for some fun. Oh, and you have to read about the jaw-dropping encounter with their first videographer. It was NUTS.
A metal and retro fashion fest wedding
Meggen and Ian are a smokin’ hot couple who do not disappoint with their killer fashion. Oh, and let’s not forget that there are some super sexy bridesmaids dresses on Meggen’s fellow Indie Six salon colleagues. Meggen’s dress was custom-made by Denver designer Bradi MacSleyne, of New Culture. And wait until you hear what song they used for a processional…
Morgan & Nicole’s dreamy mountain wedding
Yep, we said “dreamy” and we mean it! Dreaming about those mountains, that lake, that EPIC hotel, and those two sexy-as-hell brides is just about the only thing that can be done after seeing it. Sure, they may have almost sunk into the lake, and maybe they hadn’t had tons of practice with PDA, but seriously, shit be worth it.
My dress doesn’t define me: How a tomboy learned to love taffeta
I have always been a tomboy. That’s not to say that I’ve never worn a dress before; I do like to get “dressed up,” but my definition of dressed up doesn’t match most of society’s definition. Now I love a pretty dress as much as the next girl, but trying to find a wedding gown that suited my personality and my budget was one of the hardest things about planning my wedding. I hated everything. I didn’t want a formfitting dress but somehow I couldn’t fit the notion of those giant cupcake dresses in with my lack of femininity.
Kara & Adam’s 1930s-inspired aviation history wedding
A wedding in an aviation museum is one thing, but this couple added in some amazing 1930s details that take it to another level. We’re talking photos that totally suggest Casablanca, complete with a Humphrey Bogart-style groom in a white jacket. The air mail-toting flower girls, the “Adventure Book,” and a spectacular venue space just make it all that much more awesome.
