I’ve seen a few remixed boutonniere ideas floating around out there for gents — ones with Spiderman, Superman, Batman, etc. But what about boutonnieres or corsages for the lady folk? Here’s what I used to create mine.

My fiancé Will and I celebrated our engagement with a shoujo manga (Japanese girls’ comics)-themed party, complete with DIY manga decorations, a magical cake, and all of our wonderful friends. Like many brides-to-be, I spent a ridiculous amount of time scouring the internet for ideas on how to decorate our small venue on a non-existing budget, as well as incorporate our nerdy little theme. Today we’ve got a vintage dress, a huge homemade Dalek (and mini flower girl Dalek!), and a wedding guide made for us to “not panic!” It’s a sci-fi wedding… so say us all!

They both wore Chucks, carried Sonic Screwdrivers, and had a lovely handfasting to boot.

Let me just leave this here: Adventure Time cake, custom manga shoes, retro pin-up style, and a killer aviation museum venue. We can’t even get over the CAKE! You have to see it.
