Heather & Johnathan’s nerdy summer picnic wedding
These two had some interesting dilemmas: managing expectations from a very Catholic family and a not-so-Catholic family, balancing the needs of disabilities and the recovery community, and having a super low budget. But we can all learn from this bride’s kick-ass attitude about keeping things accessible and authentic! Plus, we’re totally behind any wedding that ends with a D&D campaign.
Sandi Jo & John’s Neo-Victorian circus sideshow wedding
Inspiration can come from anywhere, but in this case, it came straight from the venue, [vendor-heart link="http://vendors.offbeatwed.com/listing/the-quixotic-world"]The Quixotic World[/vendor-heart]. What once was a low-key tea party wedding became a raucous, burlesque “Gears and Garters” Victorian circus sideshow wedding! We’re talking corsets, hula hoops, clowns, and sideshow acts — all following a sweet handfasting.
Lauren & Jordan’s Highland gothic seaside wedding
What better way to celebrate shared Scottish heritage than with kilts, a bagpiper, and lots of tartan? Oh, and add in some goth elements, a little headbanging, and a camera-shy groom, and you’ve got a well-rounded wedding with a ton of good times. And best of all, the rivet head Burners and the small town families came together in perfect harmony.
Kelley & Michael’s beachside Hawai’ian elopement (with ring forging!)
Keeping a secret for a whole year? Not this couple’s forte, but they did it! Planning a sweet and scenic Hawai-ian elopement with back-up plans for bad weather? That they can do! They powered through the secrecy and it was all worth it when they stood touching foreheads overlooking a craggy and fabulous beach as a married couple. Oh, and you’ll never guess what Tolkien-esque wizardry went into their wedding rings!
