Comments on 10 unique custom wedding dresses for the most daring brides

  1. Hi Ariel,

Very nice and informative post shared by you.

Many of brides have a thought of having some unique and customed wedding dress for her big day, normally these type of brides don’t like traditional wedding dresses. One should must keep in mind that the dress must match the wedding venue or theme.

These dresses are like fairy tale princesses dresses, it gives the unique look of the bride and makes her one among all, and also it becomes popular and famous for long time. The best in all among these according to me is the last one, the one in black and white colour.

    Thanks for it.
    Have a nice week ahead.

  2. A lot of black here. Apparently the original colour for wedding dresses was red and it’s only of relatively recent years that we’ve evolved to white etc.

    • Historically, in the West wedding dresses were just best dresses, so you had it in whatever colour you liked or was fashionable. White was the poshest colour because it was the hardest to maintain over multiple wears*; you were really in the money if you bought a wedding dress just to wear once. A lot of people pin the rise of white on Queen Victoria, who certainly played a part in it, but it didn’t really become the default until at least a century after her wedding as fabric prices and machine manufacturing meant the average woman could suddenly afford to own more than two dresses (one best, one every day).

Red became very popular in the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries because a new dye was developed with was colourfast. Before that, red was a colour you simply couldn’t wash without it fading; afterwards, red was everywhere (especially in underwear in the Victorian period). The only problem is turkey red, the dye, is particularly beloved by moths, so is an absolutely headache to look after long term.

*as opposed to white underwear, which was cheapest because it was easy to bleach and wash. Historically, you’d rarely have washed your outer clothes because it would have ruined them; you kept them neat with brushing and spot cleaning.
