“I am a South Indian who moved to the US six years back, and the groom is American, born and raised here. I am from a state in India called Karnataka. Leila and Calvin blended together traditions from their Filipino, African American, Muslim, and Irish heritages and made it all MAD GOOD. During their ceremony, they had drummers perform and their officiant also included an African tradition of afoshe: eating and drinking different foods and beverages that represented symbols about a marriage.
